If you are looking for the most environmentally friendly water filter, then our bamboo charcoal filters are the ultimate choice. Coming in a pack of four, these charcoal water filters are a sustainable and powerful choice for clean and purified water whether at home or on the go.

These travel water filters will remove impurities and odours from water, leaving you with a clean, fresh, and great-tasting drink wherever you might be. We focus on providing quality, sustainable, and eco-friendly products, and these charcoal water filters are the best choice for those seeking powerful water filtration.

These Bamboo Charcoal Water Filters are the perfect zero waste option for filtering your water both at home and while travelling due to their lightweight, compact nature.

Packaged in a reusable cotton bag, this set includes 4x Bamboo Charcoal Water Filters which will filter a 1 Litre jug of water (1 filter per 250ml) for around 2 months.

To use, simply place the filters in a jug or bottle filled with tap water and they will slowly filter out impurities, including organic impurities, odourants, chlorine and chloramines.

One of the best things about these filters is that they are compostable at the end of their life, but before they reach that point they also can be reused in many useful ways throughout your home.

After 2 months of use, remove from your water jug but reuse the filters for mouldy kitchen and bathroom corners, or place in the fridge to keep produce fresh, help remove smells from your fridge, bathroom or even the car, or they can be used to help remove moisture from damp areas.

Directions:

Use approx: 1 litre jug = 3 - 4 pieces; 2 litre jug = 6 - 8 pieces

1. Wash in running water to remove powder (do not use detergent).

2. Boil for 10 mins in a pan of water to sterilise, then allow to cool and dry.

3. Place in a jug and fill with tap water (charcoal may float when new but it will sink after a week or so of use).

4. Leave overnight for best results, or for at least 8 hours. Can be left in the fridge or at room temperature.

5. Re-sterilise once a week by repeating step 2.

6. Replace with new charcoal after approximately 2 months.

What is bamboo charcoal? As the name implies, it's charcoal made from bamboo. Bamboo charcoal is typically made from the stems or refuse of mature bamboo plants that are burned in ovens at temperatures ranging from 600 to 1200°C to turn them into carbon.

Bamboo charcoal has a long history of use in China, with documents dating as early as 1486 during the Ming Dynasty and mention of it during the Qing Dynasty. In East Asia and Africa, bamboo charcoal is often used as a cooking fuel as it produces less air pollution than other charcoal. Like all charcoal, bamboo charcoal purifies water by reducing organic impurities, odourants, and chlorine. As it is an especially porous charcoal, it's also useful in the manufacture of activated carbon.
